Theme-Based Social Groups
Therapeutic life skills coaching
Coaching in the community to support children, adolescents, and young adults in developing practical, emotional, and social skills within real-world settings. Services are delivered in natural environments such as the home, during meals, and throughout the community, allowing skills to be practiced and reinforced where daily life occurs.
-
Coaching may include support during meals, community outings, participation in activities, exercise or wellness-based classes, attendance at sporting events, and assistance with travel-related experiences. These opportunities are used therapeutically to strengthen emotional regulation, executive functioning, communication, flexibility, sensory tolerance, and independence while supporting overall wellness and mind–body awareness.
-
When clinically appropriate, this service incorporates gradual desensitization and exposure-based strategies to support individuals in safely navigating anxiety-provoking or overwhelming situations. This may include exposure to crowds, noise, unfamiliar environments, transitions, or travel-related stressors. All exposure and desensitization work is collaborative, carefully paced, and grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed practice to promote confidence, resilience, and a sense of mastery.
-
Therapeutic life skills coaching is individualized and integrative, blending therapeutic insight with hands-on coaching and wellness-informed practices. By practicing skills in real time—during meals, movement, social engagement, travel, and community participation—clients are better able to generalize coping strategies, increase self-advocacy, and feel more capable, connected, and supported in their daily lives and broader communities.
